Place a stop-loss order
How to set a sell that waits out of the market until the price reaches a level you choose.
A stop-loss waits out of the market until the price reaches a level you set, then sells. It caps a loss without you watching the screen.
Stop-loss orders on Cardiv are sell only.
Choose Stop-loss in the order form, enter the stop price, and enter the amount of the base token to sell. When the last traded price on the pair reaches your stop price, Cardiv activates the order and sells at that moment.
The amount you are selling is locked from the moment you place the stop-loss, not from the moment it triggers, so the funds are certain to be there when it fires.
Until it triggers, the order shows as PENDING_TRIGGER in Your active orders. It is not in the public book, so nobody else can see it or trade against it. You can cancel it at any time before it triggers, and cancelling returns the locked amount to you like any other cancel. A stop-loss that has waited 7 days is cancelled like any other resting order.
What happens to your funds
Placing the stop-loss locks the base amount. Triggering locks nothing new, because the amount is already held aside. Filling delivers the proceeds into your wallet exactly as a limit order does.
