Create your Calden wallet
The parts of Calden setup that Cardiv depends on, in the order you do them.
Calden is the wallet Cardiv works with. Its setup is a ten minute job you do once.
Go to https://app.calden.xyz and sign up with Google, or with your email address and the one-time code Calden sends you.
Mainnet sign-up needs an invite code. Write to hello@wolfedgelabs.com to request one and say that you want to trade on Cardiv. Devnet sign-up needs no code; see Try it on devnet first.
Save your recovery phrase
Calden creates your wallet in your browser from a 12-word recovery phrase and shows you that phrase once. Write it down and store it somewhere secure and offline. Calden cannot recover it for you, and neither can Cardiv.
Your recovery phrase is yours to keep. Lose it and the wallet is gone, with everything in it.
Your party ID
Calden then creates your party ID. It starts with Calden:: followed by a long fingerprint that is unique to you, and it is your identity everywhere: on Cardiv, in Calden, and across the Canton Network. It is also your receiving address, so it is safe to hand out.
The two steps Calden runs for you
At the end of onboarding Calden completes two setup steps without asking you anything further:
- One lets Calden tidy your balances, so small amounts of the same token get combined instead of piling up. Canton calls this UTXO merging.
- One turns on transfer preapproval for your tokens, which is what lets an asset you buy arrive in your wallet without you approving each arrival.
If the second step reports a failure for any token, or you are not sure it ran, Enable preapprovals shows you how to check and how to fix it.
