Try it on devnet first
How to place, fill and cancel real orders with play money before anything of yours is at risk.
Devnet is the whole Cardiv product with play money. Cardiv is at https://beta.app.cardiv.xyz and Calden at https://beta.app.calden.xyz; everything else in this book applies unchanged.
Signing up
A devnet Calden wallet needs no invite code; Create your Calden wallet covers the steps.
Devnet tokens have no value. They cannot be moved to mainnet or sold, and the prices are set by other people testing.
Getting devnet tokens
- Canton Coin (CC). Tap the faucet in the Calden dashboard.
- CBTC. The same panel links to the Bitsafe faucet, which sends CBTC to your party ID.
- cETH and USDCx. Buy them on Cardiv with CBTC.
Devnet trades CBTC/CC, CBTC/cETH and CBTC/USDCx.
Fees on devnet
The standard fee always applies on devnet: 10 CC to place an order and 5 CC to cancel one. Tap the faucet again when you run low.
What happens to your funds
Devnet tokens are locked, delivered and released exactly as mainnet tokens are. The only difference is that they are worth nothing.
