Place a limit order

How to rest an order in the book at the price you name, and what it locks.

A limit order rests in the book at the price you name until someone takes it or you cancel it, and for no longer than 7 days.

Pick the pair in the selector, then choose Buy or Sell.

Enter the price: how much of the quote token you pay for one unit of the base token. On CBTC/CC that is CC per CBTC.

Enter the amount, in the base token. On CBTC/CC that is an amount of CBTC.

Check the total and the fee the form works out for you.

Press the Buy or Sell button, then approve the order in Calden. Approve in Calden covers that screen.

The order then appears in Your active orders with the status OPEN, and it is in the public book at your price from that moment.

An order rests for at most 7 days. If it has not filled by then, Cardiv cancels it and the locked amount returns to your wallet. A partial fill restarts the 7 days.

Minimum order size

An order has to clear two floors: its total must be worth at least 5 US dollars at the current reference price, and it must be at least the pair's own minimum, which is a fixed amount of the quote token. Pairs and minimums lists both per pair. Below either floor the order is refused.

Decimals

Price and amount take up to 10 decimal places. Anything longer is rejected, not rounded.

What happens to your funds

A Buy locks the quote amount, the price times the amount, in your wallet. A Sell locks the amount of the base token. The lock holds until the order fills or you cancel it. The 10 CC network fee leaves your wallet when the order is placed; Fees has the detail.
